Raising goats has a long learning curve; there is so much to learn and to know. I've owned goats since 2002, but there is still so much that I don't know and I certainly don't claim to be an expert. When I'm stumped, here are some of the resources to which I turn:
Books
Natural Goat Care by Pat Coleby
The Complete Herbal Handbook for Farm and Stable by Juliette de Bairacli Levy
Goats Produce Too! by Mary Jane Toth - what to do with all the milk - scroll down for ordering information.
Websites
Fias Co Farm
Goat Wisdom
Hoegger Goat Supply - this goat supply company has a great section of helpful information. Their hoof-trimming information is really good.
A really good page on trimming hooves. Yes, this is a boer goat site, but hoof trimming knows no breed.
There are also several good You-Tube videos on hoof-trimming.
Other Resources
Langston University - very helpful people to call when you have a problem.
Also, consider joining a group or forum about goats.
May your goat-keeping be carefree.
