Spinning my wheels

I've been stuck inside the house for two days now, waiting on a package from FedEx, so I've had time to do some of the chores that get put off because there is always SO much to be done, mostly outdoors.

1) I cleaned out the cabinet under the kitchen sink and the double cabinet next to that one. Tossed two trash bags of junk!

2) "Sort of" cleaned the couch - you know how they say to "do a small section first to test for colorfastness"? That's what I'm doing, although it's more than a small section. I cleaned the bottom side of all three cushions. No matter how they turn out, they will look better than the tops of the cushions, I'm sure -- they are sure to become the new "top sides".

3) Cleaned the windowsill over the kitchen sink, washed the window, and closed the storm window. My herbs were looking like they were cold. :-)

Tabletop Homestead had an interesting post on her blog - would you continue to homestead if it were just you? Since I've had time to think the past two days, this is what I've been thinking on. Yes, I most certainly would stay here. I would do certain things differently, but I would be most grateful for all that my family has accomplished here. There are still projects to be done that I would not be able to do myself, so I think my list of priorities would change, or at least the method of accomplishing those priorities, but on the whole, I am extremely happy out here in the boonies and would choose to stay rather than to move to town. My "dream" though is to have all four of our children, with their families, living here on our homestead, working together and supporting ourselves and each other.

I'm off to see what else I can accomplish before the FedEx driver figures out where I live. Till next time...

Hi
This was a really great post. I thoroughly enjoyed it. So much that I included it in The Homesteading Carnival #27: Newness Edition.
Please come by and see.
Thank you,
As Always,
